The answer to ‘weary’

Read by my husband and I the other night. Sometimes Psalms wears me out….and sometimes King David knows where. I. am. at.

“Lord, without you, what hope do I have? I put full confidence in you.”

“Please save me from my sins, and don’t let fools make fun of me. I’ll keep quiet and not complain about my circumstances. You could have prevented these things from happening, but I will trust your wisdom.

“But please don’t let this situation continue much longer. It’s crushing the life out of me, and I’m about to die. I know you discipline your children because you love them; I also know that you can destroy whatever a man loves as easily as I can kill a moth. Every man is but a breath to you.

“O Lord, hear my prayer. Listen to my cry and notice my tears. Please come and help me! (Psalms 39:7-12, the Clear Word Paraphrase)

And the answer is in the next verse. This song. These verses. These are of you. These are of me. The answer to ‘weary.’

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me; He listened to me and heard my cry.
